The Dark Secrets of the US Government’s Human Radiation Experiments
The US Government has a dark past when it comes to human radiation experiments. For decades, they have been conducting experiments on both soldiers and civilians without their consent. These experiments have been shrouded in secrecy, and the full extent of them is still not known. In the report American Nuclear Guinea Pigs: Three Decades of Radiation Experiments on U.S. Citizens, it is estimated that at least tens of thousands of Americans were used in these experiments. Many of them were poor, minorities, or otherwise vulnerable populations who were not in a position to refuse. The government promised them free medical care, and they were often not told the true nature of the experiments.

One experiment involved injecting pregnant women with radioactive isotopes. This was done in order to study the effects of radiation on the developing fetus. Another experiment involved injecting 18 terminally ill cancer patients with plutonium.
The patients were not told that they were being used in an experiment, they were not told what the risks were, and they did not give their permission for it. These are just two of the many human radiation experiments conducted in secret by the US Government.
One of the most disturbing experiments conducted was on mentally disabled children. These disabled children were fed radioactive food, without their consent or knowledge in order to see if they would absorb more radiation than normal people.
Another shocking experiment was when the Government inserted radium rods into the noses of schoolchildren. This was done in order to study the effects of radiation on the human body. The children were not told that the rods had been inserted, and they were not given any medical treatment.
The US Military has also deliberately released radioactive chemicals over US and Canadian cities. They did this in order to study the health effects of radioactive fallout from nuclear bomb tests.
In another particularly horrifying experiment, pregnant women and babies were injected with radioactive chemicals. This was done in order to study the effects of radiation on developing fetuses.
Another experiment that would have shocked the public if it wasn’t conducted on prison inmates was when the testicles of prison inmates were irradiated. This was done in order to study the effects of radiation on fertility.
These experiments have caused immense suffering and have left many people with lifelong health problems. The full extent of the damage caused by these experiments is still not known. The government has never fully acknowledged responsibility for these experiments and has never compensated many of the victims.
In conclusion, if it wasn’t for the 1986 report from the Congressional Subcommittee on Energy Conservation and Power; American Nuclear Guinea Pigs: Three Decades of Radiation Experiments on US Citizens, the public may still be unaware of the horrific human radiation experiments conducted by their government.
